Olmesartan Medoxomil blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. Chlorthalidone increases the excretion of sodium and water from the body, reducing blood volume and pressure. Together, they produce a synergistic effect, lowering blood pressure more effectively than either drug alone.
