Desvenlafaxine increases the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain, improving mood and reducing depressive symptoms. Clonazepam enhances the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that reduces neuronal excitability, leading to anxiolytic and anticonvulsant effects. The combination aims to address both depressive and anxiety symptoms.
